Integrative Medicine

Feeling low on energy, not sleeping well, or having mysterious chronic pain that no one can seem to diagnose? Issues like these can easily be solved with an integrative approach, meaning treating the issues that altogether affect the unified system of your body. Rather than separating issues and relying on meds prescribed over and over again, I will help diagnose the root cause and treat it holistically in order to find long-lasting resolution.

I have done a significant amount of research and learning outside of conventional medicine and formal medical training, as I maintain my own and my family’s health and well-being. I have always looked for the least invasive and most natural option for our care but I have also benefited from surgery. Integrative medicine takes all options available and includes them in a treatment plan. This is not a type of medicine, rather a way to practice medicine.

In my consultations, our goal is to get to the ‘why’.

Meaning, ‘why are you having these symptoms?’, not ‘here is a pill to cover up your symptoms’ or worse, having a doctor dismiss your symptoms or concerns. These consults take a lot of time, both on my part and on the patient’s part. We use questionnaires, food journals, blood work (most of it covered by your insurance) and supplements (my members get these wholesale) to get to the root causes of a problem.

I utilize integrative medicine for my Integrative Medicine Consultations. This is a 'new' way to think about approaching health concerns.  I say 'new' because this is the way, for example, Naturopaths (ND) are taught, and 'f'unctional medicine is not new. In the recent years, 'F'unctional Medicine has been branded with an emphasis on expensive testing and nutraceuticals (supplements). This has caused an increase in cost for patients that insurance often will not reimburse. There are better ways to start the process of getting to the root cause before doing the expensive testing/supplements. Lifestyle and Diet changes are the first lines of treatment and diagnosis that I use in my practice.

As a patient seeking this type of consult, you need to be willing take a deep dive into your health history and personal habits, such as diet and exercise, and make changes.

Are you ready to make the changes needed to start feeling better? Take the quiz below to find out.

We look at all possible treatment options and habit changes, then together we pick what works best for you. Even if that means baby steps, it's still change. All I ask is that you have an open mind. If this sounds like you, I look forward to working with you!
